Watsonville, CA – So far thirteen lucky puppies have been adopted from the Puppy Palooza Doggie Adoptions & Demonstrations at the Santa Cruz County Fair which runs through Sunday.

“On Tuesday, our first day, we had eight adopted, which is a lot,” said Ashley Hoskins, Coordinator of the Puppy Palooza Doggie Adoptions & Demonstrations area.  “That number we don’t usually expect in one day” added Hoskins.

On Wednesday of the fair another five dogs found new families to go home with.  Dog Spot Rescue and the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter provide a total of 50 dogs available for adoption each day. This weekend Golden State Greyhound Adoption and Peace of Mind Dog Rescue are scheduled to make an appearance.

Visitors can find the Puppy Palooza Doggie Adoptions & Demonstrations at the Ball Park, just behind the carnival area, between 12:30 and 7:30 PM Thursday and Friday; and 10:30-7:30 PM this weekend for dog adoptions and the Rocket’s K-9 Comets Frisbee Dog show.

The Santa Cruz County Fair celebrates the rich agricultural history of our community and people, and invests heavily in bringing this heritage to our youth.  The 2014 Fair runs through Sunday at the Fairgrounds located on Highway 152 just east of Watsonville.  Information on the Fair, and the Fairgrounds - a year round entertainment and event venue, can be found at santacruzcountyfair.com
