“County Fair Looking For a Few Good Words”

Watsonville, CA - Santa Cruz County Fair manager David Kegebein has announced a contest to encourage all interested to submit theme ideas for the 2022 edition of the Fair.

The theme should reflect the spirit of the County Fair in as few words as possible. It can be based on the bounty of the area’s fields and ranches, the spirit of the county’s people, the optimism of youth or a proverbial favorite, cute and cuddly animals. Just to name a few. “The Fair belongs to all of us and we like to have as much input from our Fair friends and neighbors as possible” noted Kegebein. And he has a reward for the winning entry, “The winner will receive a VIP Family Pack for 4 which is: One Parking Pass, Four Admissions, Four Carnival Wristbands and $100 Food Concession Bucks.”

All interested need to keep in mind that the deadline for entry is Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 5 PM. Entries may be emailed to or mailed/hand delivered to: Santa Cruz County Fair, Theme Contest, 2601 East Lake Avenue, Watsonville, CA 95076.

The Santa Cruz County Fair celebrates the rich agricultural history of our community and people, and invests heavily in bringing this heritage to our youth. The 2022 Fair will be held September 14-18 at the Fairgrounds located on Highway 152 just east of Watsonville.
