Go Undercover at the Fair on Sunday

Watsonville, CA – What a wonderful sight, rain! Don’t let it dampen your plans—the Fair is operating as planned (including Carnival Rides at 3 pm) and there’s plenty to see and do indoors.

Duck inside the Harvest Building and check out the GIANT pumpkins. The orange gourds are unbelievably big. One winner weighs 482 pounds. And the pumpkins are not alone. There are lots of interesting items under the same roof, plus quilting and woodworking demonstrations

Slip into Fine Arts. You’ll find poetry, drawings, sculpture and more. Each piece of art is more intriguing than the next.

The JJ Crosetti building has something for everyone. Collections, LEGOs, photography and other unique and unexpected displays.

Floriculture is home to the most beautiful and colorful flowers. Walk slowly through the building to appreciate every detail of the flower arrangements and individual blooms. There are bonsai trees too.

Friendly bartenders await fairgoers inside Heritage Hall. There are plenty of tables where you can sit and enjoy your beverage. A sturdy tent nearby is another great spot to enjoy a drink or snack. The trickiest thing about the Fair, is deciding which tasty treat to eat. But no one said you have to settle for just one!

And don’t worry about mud on your wheels, the main parking lot is fully paved.

The Santa Cruz County Fair celebrates the rich agricultural history of our community and people and invests heavily in bringing this heritage to our youth.  The 2022 Fair will be held September 14-18, at the Fairgrounds located on Highway 152 just east of Watsonville.  Information on the Fair, and the Fairgrounds - a year-round entertainment and event venue, can be found at santacruzcountyfair.com
