FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 10, 2012
Watsonville, CA – The Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds on East Lake Avenue is 105 beautiful flower filled acres that seems to peak right about opening day of the annual September fair. This array of flowering beauty doesn’t happen by accident but starts with the flower planting day each July.
Scores of volunteers will come together on Thursday, July 12, 2012 to plant those annuals. Anyone interested in spending a few short hours between 4 and 7 PM is encouraged to come out to the Fairgrounds at 2601 East Lake Avenue and get a little dirt on their hands. Bring the family for what is a very nice way to spend some quality time in a very beautiful setting. Oh and bring a garden tool along if you have one. The Heritage Foundation will serve the traditional hot dog dinner for all who help. But the biggest reward is to be found this fall when you stroll the Fairgrounds and see what your efforts have added to the best county fair anywhere!
