Watsonville, CA - Once again a group of talented students competed to have their artwork selected to represent the theme of the 2011 Santa Cruz County Fair.  Last year’s winner Ken Muramoto, now an Aptos High junior, was selected to have his artwork represent this year’s theme “Dancing with the Steers for 200 Years.”  Ken will be awarded a crisp $100 dollar bill during an upcoming classroom ceremony and he and his family will be guests of the Fair this fall.

This is the third year the annual County Fair has looked to local youth for graphic inspiration.  The artwork, which was hand drawn by Muramoto, will be used to create the poster which is often a Fair industry award winner and sought after collectable.  This 11th grader’s whimsical scene will also be used by various Fair departments as they design their entertaining and educational displays.

“There was just no doubt that Ken once again combined the spirit of the Fair and this year’s theme best of all who entered” said Michael Bethke, Fair Manager.  He added, “Congratulations to Ken and his family.  We look forward to honoring them at the Fair this fall.”  To view the winning artwork simply go to the Fair’s website www.santacruzcountyfair.com
