Watsonville, CA -- The guides for those who look forward to entering their best in this year's Santa Cruz County Fair are now available.  The complete Exhibitor’s "Entry Guide" can now be accessed on line at santacruzcountyfair.com.  In addition, the guide can be found at local libraries, feed stores, and the Fair office located on East Lake Avenue (Highway 152) in Watsonville.

Planning for County Fair Officially Underway
2022 Santa Cruz County Fair Selects Theme

Watsonville, CA – “A Country Fair with Ocean Air” will provide the look and feel for the 2022 Santa Cruz County Fair. From a list of more than a hundred and thirty entries submitted by the community, a handful of finalists were selected and, during the year’s first fair department head meeting, the winning theme was chosen. For her creative submission Watsonville resident Sandy Roberson earns a VIP Family Pack for 4 which is: One Parking Pass, Four Admissions, Four Carnival Wristbands and $100 Food Concession Bucks.

“County Fair Looking For a Few Good Words”

Watsonville, CA - Santa Cruz County Fair manager David Kegebein has announced a contest to encourage all interested to submit theme ideas for the 2022 edition of the Fair.

Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds/Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds Foundation/Ag History Project:  Long ago, around 1885,  home-loving and farm-loving Santa Cruz County citizens combined their first efforts to produce what has become the Santa Cruz County Fair and Horse Show. This elaborate fair has been at its present location along Hecker Pass Road (the present East Lake Avenue) since 1941. The first agricultural county fair opened on October 16th in Folger's Skating Rink, near the plaza in the center of Watsonville. Over the stage, spelled out in letters formed of apples, was the sign "Pajaro Valley Products.” These days, in addition to providing endless amounts of family fun, during almost every nationally declared disaster, the Fairgrounds have become the county’s safe place for people, animals and community services. 2020 stretched the County Fairgrounds staff and all-volunteer foundation board to new levels of community engagement. During times of need, the Fairgrounds becomes a hub of services for everything from wildfire evacuees and their farm animals to providing a one-stop place for COVID-19 testing, to a vaccination clinic.
