The Kiddie Korral
The Fair Has the Perfect Spot for Young Families
Watsonville, CA – The Santa Cruz County Fair continues the Fairtime tradition of blending old favorites, history and tradition, with new ideas like no other event can. A case in point? The Kiddie Korral.
Sometimes you just need to get out of your stroller and run around. And if you are a toddler, and your parents are near Paddy Smith Park during the 2017 Santa Cruz County Fair, you can! The inaugural Kiddie Korral will be set up in beautiful Paddy Smith Park each afternoon during the times listed below.
With green grass, shade trees, activities, toys, rocking chairs, picnic tables and a changing area, the Kiddie Korral provides a safe fun place for parents to let their young children run and get some of that “kid energy” out. Then the entire family can go out on the grounds and spend more time enjoying everything the Fair offers.

Opening Day at the Fair
Watsonville, CA – The 2017 Santa Cruz County Fair opens Wednesday at noon with 105 acres of annual favorites and some new surprises. There will be quilts, jams and jellies, giant pumpkins, award winning photographs and artwork, giant animals and a wide array of opportunities to buy the latest gadget for your home. And if you look no further than the Ball Park you’ll see two examples of what’s new.
Where the Frisbee Dogs amazed the last few years you’ll find adorable mini dogs tearing around a track twice daily. And right next door, also out in the Ball Park, The Drone Zone. Fair manager David Kegebein is always on the lookout for new experiences for guests to enjoy. Prospective pilots will first get to spend some time with the simulator to get a feel for piloting a drone and then out to the fight line to fly the real thing. The Drone Zone will be set up and active daily in the Ball Park.

One Out of Eight Has Never Seen a Cow
Come to the Fair, We Have Cows!
Watsonville, CA - According to a recently released survey of young adults in Britain 12 percent of young adults have never seen a cow. Fortuitously the Santa Cruz County Fair opens this Wednesday, September 13, to help ensure that this shocking statistic will hopefully never apply to the youth of Santa Cruz County.
