The 2011 Heritage Foundation Holiday Craft Fair was a huge success. All vendor spaces were sold out and attendees were treated to some of the best homemade confections and arts and crafts Santa Cruz County has to offer. See you next year!

Click for Slide Show A ceremonial service commemorating victims of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, will be held at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds’ Ocean Speedway. The hour long opening will honor those who died in the tragedy and emergency responders who heroically gave their lives.Music, food, and a chance to talk with all the first responders follows the opening. It all begins Sunday, Sept. 11 at noon, and is free to the public.
The Rotary Club of Freedom, CA held their annual Casino night raising over $14,500 for local charities. Games included blackjack, roulette, and poker. A delicious meal was served while guests visited with each other all in the name of charity.
This year over 215 school children from all over Santa Cruz County participated in the 2011 annual County Science Fair. Judges were comprised of local professionals and university educators. A good time had by all who participated.
Marie Skov passed away Saturday May 21st at the Watsonville Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Santa Cruz's Second Annual Hot Rods for Kids will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011, in conjunction with the 51st Running of the Johnny Key Classic Races at Ocean Speedway.
Board President Robert Marani on April 26th 2011 proclaimed April 29, 2011 as Arbor Day. The proclamation celebrates Arbor Day and encourages all citizens to protect our trees and woodlands. View the proclamation here.
