The 2012 Fair theme celebrates the berry. During the past few decades berry production has grown exponentially in the fertile Pajaro Valley. The 2012 Fair will highlight the mighty berry and the importance of this delicious crop.

2012 Santa Cruz County Fair Poster Contest

General Instructions

Open to all High School and College Students in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Southern Santa Clara Counties.

Create a 17” x 24” poster using the berry images available for download on the Fair’s website and the text and copy elements shown below. Berry images may be used in any combination with copy font and placement up to artist.

A strong colorful easy to read layout should be employed and final work needs to reflect the tradition and appeal of a classic county fair. Artwork must tie in to the 2012 theme “Come See the Berry Best”. 

Artists are encouraged to look at previous fair posters by using the following link http://www.santacruzcountyfair.com/poster-art for guidance.

Technical Specs / Final Artwork Requirements:

Electronic file:
300 dpi sized at 17 x 24 and saved as a layered tiff or Photoshop file (CS3 compatible). An 11 x 17 resized version at 300 dpi as a layered tiff or Photoshop file will also be required. Full bleed with live content ½ inch from all edges.

Entry Information

Contest submission of electronic art should be made as a medium res jpeg through the Fair website using the form below and labeled with the artist’s name, school, grade level, postal address, phone number & email address.

Alternately the entry may be burned to a CD as a pc compatible jpeg and delivered to the Fair office at the same address as a hard copy entry. Hard copy artwork should be labeled with the above electronic submission information and mailed or hand delivered to: Fair Poster Contest, Santa Cruz County Fair, 2601 East Lake Avenue, Watsonville, CA 95076. Attention Steve Stagnaro.

Hard copy submission is acceptable only for judging purposes and an electronic version of the poster, meeting the final artwork requirements, must be delivered if chosen.

Deadline HAS BEEN EXTENDED to March 31, 2012

Winner will receive $100.00 and a family pass to the 2012 Santa Cruz County Fair.
